Here's what you can expect
- Service Provider & Carrier Management: Managing and developing existing freight forwarding and logistics partners, as well as monitoring service quality, transit times and transport performance
- Analysing key performance indicators & steering measures: Evaluating KPI deviations and initiating and monitoring appropriate optimisation measures in close collaboration with Logistics Controlling to ensure optimal management of the transport supply chain
- Supporting tenders & contract management: Providing support with tenders and with price and contract negotiations with transport and logistics service providers
- Optimising processes & driving projects forward: Collaborating on and leading projects to optimise and digitise logistics processes, as well as analysing and continuously improving existing transport and dispatch procedures
- Further developing transport concepts: Contributing to the creation and further development of transport concepts, as well as to the optimisation of systems, interfaces and workflows
- Preparing reports and management analyses: Compiling statistics, key performance indicators and analyses to manage logistics processes
- Support cost and quality management: Review and approval of transport, sea and air freight invoices, as well as analysis of transport costs and quality metrics
- Supporting operational transport management: Providing support in the organisation and management of national and international transport operations in the land, sea and air freight sectors, as well as assisting customs management with customs-related processes and documentation
What you need to bring
- Education & Qualifications: A successfully completed degree with a specialisation in logistics, supply chain management or business administration
- Professional Experience & Expertise: Several years’ professional experience in transport management or international logistics; Experience of working on or leading projects; good knowledge of land, sea and air freight, ideally with a basic understanding of customs procedures; experience of working with national and international transport and logistics service providers, as well as experience in analysing and optimising logistics processes and workflows
- IT & language skills: Proficiency in SAP and standard MS Office applications, particularly Excel; business fluency in German and English
- Personal skills: Understanding of transport-related key performance indicators, cost structures and logistical interrelationships; a structured, analytical and solution-oriented approach to work, organisational skills, a high degree of personal responsibility; strong communication skills and an interest in process and system optimisation
